Apartment reno is finally done!

So it has been a very busy month for us, well 3 months actually.  We are still finishing the last touches on our new apartment, our new tenant moves in on Friday.  This new apartment of ours has been completely gutted\updated over the last three months.
our ripped out kitchen, with the wall removed and the new sub flooring installed.
We have ripped out all the existing carpeting and installed a new sub floor with beautiful new floors on top.  We removed the old kitchen took out a wall and designed a new kitchen with all white shaker style cabinetry.  We have a new granite counter tops with under mount sinks and new stainless appliances.

We are almost done in the kitchen

The bathroom we only did a partial gut job.  we removed all the flooring and the old toilet.  We tried to glaze the existing steel tub and in the end it turned out ok.  The floor that we put the bath is amazing.  It is a flexible vinyl that molds to the floors, with a house that has seen more than 100 years I can't tell you how important that is.

super happy about how the floors turned out.
Overall, our apartment reno was a huge success.  We are very exceited about of new tenant moving in.

Arty Party at Osler Bluff

So it has been a very busy weekend for me.  I was at the Osler Bluff Ski Club Arty Party selling my families handmade cutting boards.  These are made from maple and purple heart wood.  Each one has its own unique characteristics. What a great turn out we had!  We had a great time at the club seeing old friends and meeting some new ones.

This show was my first venue to showcase my new handmade beeswax cutting board conditioner.  My new recipe was a huge hit.  I can't wait to make another batch with some essential oils included.

New Year's Resolution

First let me introduce myself, my name is Rebecca and this is my New Year's resolution to myself.  I promised myself I would create a blog about what I am doing with my DIY.
Right now, we are renovating one of the apartments in our house.  I am starting a new project on reworking a thrift store purchase of a pure wool skirt.  I want to rework this into something that is not from the 1980's.  I will post some photos on how my skirt ends up in my next blog.

Thanks,
Rebecca
